A huge success here at St. Joseph’s as we raised money for the NSPCC with our Number Day. We raised the profile of maths within school today by taking part in lots of practical activities.
In Year 1 and 2 we took part in a times table number hunt, a number bonds challenge and did some art to make coloured skylines and symmetrical aliens.
In Year 6 we have been investigating the distribution of sweets in different bags – linking it to our learning about fractions. Then we took part in a number treasure hunt where we solved number problems to move around the clues. Finally, we made some beautiful artwork from parabolic curves!
