Our Reception children had a brilliant day building their very own FORTS…
What an excellent day for our Year 5 children! We were so lucky to be involved with the excellent project which finished yesterday in Durham Marketplace selling our goodies we put our blood, sweat and tears into (not literally, that would just be disgusting!) We set up our WW1 bakery stall yesterday morning in the drizzle and it continued to rain… but this didn’t dampen our spirits… just our clothes! We had a visit from the mayor of Durham who was so friendly and loved how many different recipes we tried out. We also had a visit from an officer who showed us how to stand at ease and how to take part in a gun drill. Then, we all got a chance to visit the cathedral and add our own Lego piece to the Lego Cathedral! A huge thank you to the Soil Association, especially Barbara and Gavin who gave us such a fantastic opportunity!
We arrived at Prince Bishops school and we sat along the edge of the playground and watched the Helicopter land. Then we went to the dog vans to see Jet and Ben and we got a chance to stroke them. After that, we went over to the Police cars to see what they use the cameras for, we also looked at the traffic cones, slow down signs and they even had a shovel and brush! Then, they put the sirens on and we went back to the helicopter to see who was flying and the communicator with the police. It looked like a giant Xbox controller in the back of it! Then, we had our photos taken and it flew away! – Jonas, Class 5
Our parish and school community celebrated the month of Our Lady with a May Procession on Friday 20th May. All the children, parents and parishioners enjoyed this occasion. A very special thank you to the children who led the procession carrying the statue which had been beautifully prepared by our talented parishioners. Thank you to Ebony, Elizabeth, Jessica and Laila.
Our snazzy new uniforms have arrived for our Mini Police which are made up of our Year 5 children…
