here at St. Joseph’s!
Lots of fundraising has taken place and we are overwhelmed at everyone’s generosity and kindness.
We started with our Operation Shoe Box Appeal where we received a HUGE amount of donations!
Then we raised funds for our School Library with our Christmas Carol Concert- we hope you enjoyed our lovely singing!
We had lots of fun going to see the Pantomime at Bishop Auckland- Oh no you didn’t! Oh yes we did!
Most recently, we have had our Christmas Fayre which wouldn’t have happened without the Friends of the School- so a huge THANK YOU to them! Oh, and a big thank you to Santa for joining us for the day!
Halloween was so much fun, we loved our school disco!
Here were our KS1 and KS2 costume winners …
On the 2nd October, Abbie Dixon (our local PCSO) and her colleague came into school.
As we are reading Stormbreaker, a book based on the life of a teenage spy, they introduced us to a live crime scene- created to give us insight of what the real detective world was like.
We uncovered each clue: bloody, stain ridden furniture; the foot and finger prints of the criminal; shards of broken glass; a chest of draws that had been dragged out, as if the person was searching for something; and the stolen computer that had mysteriously disappeared.
Eventually, we came to the conclusion that the crime was a burglary (a crime where property belonging to another is stolen).
Once we had returned to class, we completed a fingerprint activity that we could take home to show our parents! – Hannah G, Year 6
We would like to say a huge THANK YOU for all of your incredibly generous donations!

We had an amazing leader named Tess. We enjoyed every second of each activity and everybody tried everything! We had fun on them all for example the stream walk where we learnt about the tribe where we pretended to be crocodiles. Team activities were included and they discovered their team work skills.
It was an exciting world of adventure!
ARRRGGGH me hearties! Class 3 really enjoyed their Pirate Party today!
What an exciting day! We got to have so much fun on the bouncy castle and slide! Thank you to the Friends of the School who raised the money for such a fun day for all of our children.
